An excellent opportunity has arisen working for the MOD in Swindon. All staff must be very network management conversant with the ability to document both network designs and process * procedures. It would also help if any candidates had exp of network design or management within any of the MOD environments. equivalent qualification would be very keen, high end CCNA or CCNP. All staff MUST be or have been Government Security Cleared to SC. The post holder will be responsible for the production and implementation of fully costed low level network designs and preparing the associated business cases.
Minimum 2 years experience of Network Management*OSS Systems with a proven ability to deliver against demanding targets.
In-depth knowledge of Operational Support Systems, design and implementation of network management solutions.
Understanding of fault * trouble ticket management, gathering, aggregating and prioritising of network management information.
Performance management and reporting (Quallaby Preferred ).Configuration and change control management.
Government security clearance is mandatory for this position.
Experience of working in the MoD customer domain and of balancing a demanding workload in a pressured environment.
Strong technical and operational understanding of telecommunication networks
Knowledge of Systems*System Engineering experience
Knowledge of MOD requirements for communication systems
Good understanding of Government security practices
Technical knowledge of Network Management System Applications, e.g. CiscoWorks, OMNIbus, HP OpenView, CiscoSecure ACS, JUNOSscope, Quallaby Proviso, Nortel MDM, NexusMETER etc. understanding of synthetic testing. System Administration knowledge of NMS.
Good technical knowledge of TCP*IP and management protocols.
Knowledge of TDM and Voice networks and their associated management systems.
